Description: Warm, herbaceous, aromatic. Aroma is sweet, light and fresh, slight spicy, and cleansing. Thyme stimulates the brain and helps memory and concentration. It is also known to help relieve the pain of migraine headaches. Helpful for Fibromyalgia. Thyme is understood to be one of the most potent antiseptic essential oils. Thyme oil kills the anthrax bacillus, typhoid bacillus, salmonella and staph bacteria. Thyme can replace Tea Tree Oil is used as a topical antiseptic. It is gentle enough to be used undiluted or neat. Essential Oil for Circulation, Hair Loss and Regrowth, Insect Repellent, Ear Infection, Appetite Suppressant, Fibromyalgia.
Extracted through steam distillation of leaves and flowering tops.
Uses: Blends well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Chamomile, and Lemon. Use in a diffuser or massage to counter a cold and relieve tiredness. Use a 50/50 cut with Lavender with children for cuts and scrapes.
Caution: Do not add to bath water, Thyme Oil is a "hot" oil. Use sparingly as Thyme can be toxic if used in excess. Thyme can be sensitizing to the skin. Dilute with 1% Thyme oil to 99% carrier. Test for sensitivity before using. This oil is not advised for people with high blood pressure, as it is a stimulating oil. Do not use if epileptic. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
If you wish, you can also dilute with carrier oil for direct skin contact.
